Poker Downswings
Down swings is perhaps the saddest reality
throughout the Online Poker. They can be extremely difficult to treat and are
impossible to avoid. Downswings will fill the players with feelings of
helplessness that are difficult to explain. Even the best players will lose
confidence in your game when they go downswings. Most players realize that
downswings are not purely the fault of bad luck or bad game, and which are a
combination of both. The problem, however, is that players like blaming a
slowdown entirely on bad luck. After all, it is much easier to think that a
slowdown is completely out of your control and you are just unlucky victim the
worst ever. The fact is that downswings, at least 99% of the time, are the
product of continued bad game. While downswings often begin with a hard hand,
they are extended by the bad game.
Bad Luck
Bad luck is a reality of the game and yourself. Even when you aren't in a
slowdown you'll be getting unlucky from time to time. The question that most
players struggle with is what to do when they happen these rough hands. The
perfect player would hands unlucky roll off your back, but there is virtually no
one who can actually do this. The solution to this is simply dealing with them
in the best possible way. Then this leads to an entirely new set of problems.
Sometimes poker may seem like an endless cycle of torture.
There is good news you can handle the bad luck if you wish. It will have a lot
of self-discipline to resist the inevitable bad luck. Anger is the most common
reaction to bad luck, but just like in real life, anger can be monitored. The
best thing to do is just quit. This leads without trial, one step away from the
table (or computer) and you will be able to effectively reduce your losses.
Another option is to reduce the amount of tables you are playing, or move down
in limits. This will reduce losses, but the only way that it actually benefits
someone is if they are able to gamble profitably. If you're still going to be
playing while angry is definitely in your best interest to simply hang out for a
little while.
Bad Game
You never have gotten infuriated with one hand? Maybe you've got AA all in pre
flop vs KK and K on the flop. You brick-runner, and lost a hand where you were a
big favorite. Obviously, you're angry, but what to do to tame this anger? Often
times nothing, it is much easier to spew a lot of chips on the next hand. You
may make a huge open raise pre flop for no reason or check raise flip purely out
of spite. This is how bad luck turns on bad Poker bonuses that after everything
evolve into a slowdown. The key is to eliminate the appearance that you have
control over, the bad game. You will never stop a downturn in the command, but
you can help limit the damage that it imposes.
